I used commercial, low fire colour glazes and then applied the raku process of fire, and carbon from reduction, allowing "chance" to play its part with the tiles and drawings. 1984 Post-grad work at Emily Carr included these raku columns which I did in collaboration with Michael Morris entitled "The Silent Hurt Of Oppression" which is now in the collection of The Nickle Arts Museum in Calgary, Alberta. |
The 1980s
The Reagan Suite was done as part of my post grad 1984 work at Emily Carr on Granville Island. I created a plaster mold and then altered some dozen castings.
They were shown at The Montgomery Cafe on Pender St which was an artist exhibition venue
as well as a popular 50's style cafe. |
